Aftercare advice for Microneedling

Microneedling creates tiny micro-injuries in the skin to stimulate collagen production, which can leave your skin sensitive and vulnerable during the healing process. Proper aftercare is essential to maximize results and avoid complications.

Immediate Aftercare (First 24 Hours)

  • Avoid Touching Your Face – Keep hands clean and avoid unnecessary contact.

  • Use Gentle Skincare – Wash your face with a mild, sulfate-free cleanser and lukewarm water. Avoid scrubbing.

  • Stay Hydrated – Drink plenty of water to support skin healing.

  • Apply a Hydrating Serum – Hyaluronic acid can help replenish moisture.

  • Avoid Makeup – Let your skin breathe for at least 24 hours.

Days 1-3: Healing Phase

  • Moisturise – Use a fragrance-free, hydrating moisturiser to prevent dryness.

  • Apply Sunscreen – SPF 30+ is a must since skin is extra sensitive to the sun.

  • Skip Active Ingredients – Avoid retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, and vitamin C until redness subsides.

  • No Sweating or Heat – Avoid saunas, hot showers, and intense workouts to prevent irritation.

Days 4-7: Skin Recovery

  • Introduce Gentle Actives – If irritation subsides, gradually reintroduce vitamin C or mild exfoliants.

  • Continue Hydrating & SPF – Keep moisturizing and using sunscreen daily.

  • Expect Light Peeling – Some mild flaking or dryness may occur—do not pick at the skin.

What to Avoid for 1 Week

  • Direct sun exposure

  • Harsh skincare (scrubs, acids, retinoids)

  • Swimming pools & chlorinated water

  • Heavy makeup

  • Excessive sweating

With proper care, your skin will heal smoothly, revealing a fresh and rejuvenated complexion.
